Akanisi Yavala, a form 6 student at the Namosi Secondary School was also at the roadshow to get her Tax identification card.

“I was able to get my tax identification card done and I really appreciate the services offered. I was also able to visit other booths to enquire about career opportunities and other information that I need.

“I appreciate Government for organizing this event,” the form 6 student said.

In his closing address, Assistant Minister for Rural & Maritime Development and National Disaster Management, Hon. Joeli Cawaki reiterated Governments commitment to develop Fiji’s rural and remote communities. He said that the purpose of the roadshow was to bring government services closer to Fijians living in rural and remote areas.

Meanwhile, the people of Namosi also had the opportunity to raise their concerns directly with government during the roadshow.

This was made possible through an organized talanoa session headed by the Acting Permanent Secretary for Rural & Maritime Development and National Disaster Management, Mr Setareki Tale.
Some of the issues that were raised with Government include rural electrification, payment of lease money, road upgrading and gravel extraction.
